Tozzy helps families track their pets' health. This page explains what data we keep, where it lives, who can see it, and how you can delete it.
What we keep
- Your account: the email you use to sign in and the date the account was created.
- Your profile: the name you choose and, if you like, a photo. They show the family and any vet with access who measured, who gave a medication, and who wrote a note.
- Where you live: the country, state, and city. Never the exact location of the device. The app finds the country from the App Store account, the device region, or the browser time zone, and you can change it. We use this data to show features and tips for your area and to understand where the app is used. Only you see it.
- The pets: name, species, breed, and the data the family fills in on the profile, such as birth date, weight, health conditions, and photo.
- The breathing measurements: the count, the rate per minute, the date, the method (camera or manual), the pet's state, and who measured.
- The routine: the tasks, such as walks and meals, with their times, and who marked each one as done or skipped, and when.
- The medications: the name, dose, and times the family adds from the prescription, the supply, and who gave, skipped, or logged each dose, and when.
- The notes: the type, the tags, the text, when it happened, and who wrote it. A note marked "Family only" is never shown to a vet.
- The memories: the photos the family uploads, with caption, date, and who uploaded them, and the moments. The apps shrink each photo and remove the location before uploading. Photos stay in private storage, and only the family gets links that expire in one hour.
- Ask Tozzy, the artificial intelligence chat: your chats and what Tozzy remembers from them, such as the pet's fears, preferences, and goals. Only you see them. To answer, the pet data you choose and the chat go to the artificial intelligence provider in use (OpenAI or Anthropic). Photos and documents you send in the chat also go to the provider, only to generate the answer, and are not used to train the models. Your name, email, and phone are not sent.
- Each pet's family: who takes part and in what role (owner or caregiver), and the invites created.
- The Plus plan, if you subscribe: the plan, where it comes from (App Store, family, or gift), when it renews or ends, and the purchases Apple confirms. We also keep which Plus price a price test drew for you and when the Plus screen first showed you a price, to compare the prices. We keep no card data: Apple handles the payment.
What we do not keep
The camera counts the breaths on the iPhone itself. The video never leaves the device and is never recorded. We keep only the result of the count.
How we measure the use of the app
- Usage events: when you open the app, and when the Plus screen opens, closes, or ends in a purchase. We keep the type of the event, the time, the app version, and your country, tied to your account. These events never hold the value of a measurement, a dose, a note, a photo, or the video. We use no third-party tools to measure and we do not use the device's advertising identifier.
- Questions in the app: now and then the app asks a short question, such as how much you would miss it or whether Plus would interest you. We keep the answer tied to your account for 13 months. If you tick that we may write to the account email, we may invite you to a conversation. The app does not ask questions while a pet needs attention.
- How the app reached you: we keep, once, in the first 7 days, whether you came through the code of a vet or a clinic, a family recommendation, the invitation to a pet, or an Apple ad (when that test is on). This shows which paths work. Whoever came through none of them counts as organic.
- Health counts: to make sure no new feature gets in the way of care, the project owner sees only totals, such as how many measurements pets with a health condition made in a week. They do not see the timeline of a family. These counts use data the app already keeps and also include people who turned usage analytics off.
- You choose: in My account, turn off "Help improve the app". The app stops sending events and questions, and we delete the events we had already kept and every answer you gave to the questions, with the written text and the permission to contact you. Only the date each question appeared stays, so it is not asked again.
- We keep events and answers to the questions for 13 months and delete them with the account. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising. The basis is the legitimate interest of improving the app, and you can object at any time with the switch above.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps and sites, so the app does not show Apple's tracking prompt.
Where the data lives
The data lives on Supabase (database and sign-in) and on Google Cloud (our server), both in the São Paulo region, in Brazil. The communication between the app and the server is encrypted.
Who sees the data
- Only the people in a pet's family see that pet's data. You join the family through an invite from someone who is already in.
- The people in a pet's family see each other's name, photo, and email, to know who measured and who takes part. Your city and country are not shown to anyone but you.
- We do not sell data and we do not use data for advertising.
- Vets: when this feature arrives, a vet will only see a pet if the owner shares it. The owner chooses what they see and can end access at any time. After that, the vet sees nothing more about the pet.
Artificial intelligence assistant
When the assistant arrives, it will use the pet data that the owner allows to answer questions. For that, this data is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI model. The app tells you before first use, and the assistant only works after you accept.
How to delete your data
A pet's owner can delete the pet and all its data in the app, at the end of the Profile. You can also ask to delete your account and your pets' data at any time. Write to <contact/> from the account's email. After we confirm the account is yours, we delete the account and the pets' data.
Your rights
Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), you can ask for access, correction, a copy, or deletion of your data.
